Over the last several years, the Yuma Police Department has gotten more involved in the issues surrounding Elder Abuse.  They are a member of the Elder Abuse Task Force and concentrate on Elder physical abuse, emotional abuse and financial abuse.

The group meets monthly and discusses information regarding specific reported cases, new Arizona laws, training and networking.  Elder financial abuse has become a large problem in Yuma County.  Under investigation is the fact that relatives and/or friends given an elder’s power of attorney sometimes illegally disburse money.

If you are aware of any type of Elder Abuse, contact the Adult Protective Services office at 928-782-9255, the Yuma Police Department at 928-783-4421 or an experienced Elder Abuse Attorney.  No one has the right to abuse or take advantage of another person.
